On the east river in Williamsburg on a sunny winter afternoon. I arrived the night before after a long bumpy flight. I spent the day walking round the park and over the Williamsburg bridge into Manhattan to get some pizza from one of my favorite pizza places 'Rosario's in the lower east side. It's great to be back in the big Apple again, we're getting ready to embark on a tour of The Hard Rock Cafe's in nth America at the end of February with a bunch of showcases at Austin's South by South West Music Conference slipped in there as well. Preparations for our next video are being made which will be shot in Manhattan again so keep an eye out for that, or ear, or leg maybe ..

Hello comrades!
Have been spending many luscious hours recording songs in the lovely brick home where I did most of my growing up. The house has always been teeming with instruments; old, cheesy and otherwise. Now it is time to give back to my community by intruding on the neighbours usually pleasant evenings with distortion and tape echo fuzz. Some new MINK songs on the cards? I think so!

The first is photo at Bondi's Icebergs hotel . The day was a Sneaky Sound System party to bring in the New Year . I jumped off the balcony right after this shot was taken and did a few laps in the pool below . Good times ;)
The second was taken last night at Sydney's Establishment Bar , where i did an acoustic set last night with my friend Cameron Mc Adam. It was a real buzz to play some blues in an intimate setting like the Establishment , hopefully there will be more of that kind of thing in the future.

It's been a very exciting and productive new year.  Me and my longtime friend and songwriting partner, John Campos, have been working on a lot of new tunes.  John smokes, I drink coffee.  Good wholesome fun.  Here's ashot from today's studio session.  As you can see, I'm playing a fantastic keyboard from the 1980s.  I love the busted key.  That note will never be played on any song I write from now until eternity.

I spent last year's New Years in Sydney.  It was so strange celebrating the year's end in hot summer weather.  I remember watching the fireworks in Kirribilli.  2007 has gone by so quickly and it's been a very good year.

It's nice enjoying this chilly NY winter this year.  Here's a photo I took at the Brooklyn Promenade.  It's a great place to go to get a different perspective of Manhattan.  Wishing everyone a very happy New Year.

After close to a year in the USA, Grant, Nick and Stella will be travelling back home to Australia to see friends and family. It's been a long and successful year for MINK and the trip back home will be a nice reward. On Friday, we met for a goodbye dinner at an awesome Latin restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn called Bogota. Our friends at Takeout Marketing joined us along with some close friends. Last night we had our farewell dinner at Bogota in Park Slope. It was a deadly combination of sangria and carbohydrates. I already miss this gorgeous and stinky town, look out for some serious West Coast road movies in the coming days! Mmmm, sunshine.

The time has come to leave town and head to the west. Stella, Grant and myself are sadly leaving big old New York to head home and abounds and re-energize over the festive season, visiting family and loved ones. Stay tuned to see what we will be up to. Hey folks. Today we ventured to the city's biggest and most impressive toy store on the back end of Black Friday. Ahh, my first Thanksgiving. We all had a massive feast with our respective loved ones, myself - I was barraged with soul food and garlic infused turkey. I fell in love with the idea of a baster (sp?) and even contributed to the feast by making some gravy (with assistance). My favourite thing about Thanksgiving; LEFTOVERS. On such a rainy night we managed to get all the kids in the room excited including dancing on the stage with us, I have to say the Care bears on Fire were so cool very impressed by those guys, a talented bunch of kids. It was cool to play at this venue with these guys.

NACA is a college conference that takes place all over the country. It's a place where musicians, magicians and hypnotists fight to win the hearts and minds of colleges so that one day they might be able to perform at one of the schools. Stella and I went this year and kicked ass. Watch here as we challenge two unsuspecting people to a jumping jack competition. Stella won the contest, but everyone did a good job. My legs burned for 3 days afterwards.

Fearless Music is an awesome studio in NYC that broadcasts live music on a local cable station. Some of the bands that have performed on Fearless: Brian Jonestown Massacre, Juliette and The Licks, Shiny Toy Guns, and now....MINK. We had a great time playing in the studio. Leaves are changing. The air is getting cooler. We met up this afternoon in Williamsburg for lunch at a little cafe on Bedford Ave. called Bliss. Autumn in New York is incredible.

MINK plays the famous "Pianos" in the heart of the lower eastside, what a way to do a show just like SXSW all over again crowded load ins and busy bars, 20 min change over 25 min set, the adrenalin was on, heres some live shots capturing the spirit of the performance, Nick ps thanks to all the lovely people who saw the show.

after our Whirl wind US tour we are back in New York doing showcases at CMJ heres a shot of our first gig back at the Club Midway, it was fantastic to get all hot and sweaty again for you.

Tonite was the grand Finale both bands had a chance to play together during the Satellite Party Set, it was amazing to play with Perry live onstage, plus the end of tour shenanigans were outrageous, Neal dancing in his underwear and stuff like that.

After 2 months on the road, we wrapped up the tour in two of the most beautiful cities in the USA: San Diego and Las Vegas. San Diego is filled with perfectly tanned people and white sand. Las Vegas is a neon-lit dream world where no one sleeps. Our friend Ducky was nice enough to plan an "end of tour" party for us at a club called Tao in Las Vegas. The DJ spun a blend of early Michael Jackson, hip hop and funk classics....we danced til dawn. Here are some shots:

Today was a scorcher. We whipped out our short shorts and beach towels under the Phoenix sun. Ate some quality hummus, bathed in the heat and played at a wonderful record store named Zia's in Tempe. Cool! Thanks to everyone at the Martini show too, what a blast..

Today we played for the Virgin Megastore head office, Neal cranked out the guitar hero controller during the set which stirred everyone up we were very happy to brighten up everyones day in the office. In the evening we donated and signed a MINK drum head and a pair of Neal's gold pants worn at Emo's in Texas and New Orleans, followed by a short set in the cafe. Peace Nick

Today we traveled 30 miles from LA to Pomona to play at The Glass House. Before the gig, we went shopping at a vintage clothing store which had a large supply of cowboy boots and denim vests. Thanks to eveyone who came out to the gig and supported us. MINK

Playing LA Weekly's Detour Festival was loads of fun. After our set, we met three amazing girls who were all wearing candy bracelets. We discussed the bracelets for awhile, then decided to form a gang called The Motherfucking Candy Bracelet Gang. It's not the most intimidating name on the planet, but I love it. There were so many great bands playing tonight, including Turbonegro, Bloc Party & Justice. It was so cool to hear a different band whenever you turned the corner. Back in LA! Ahh, it feels good. Tomorrow we have the honour of playing the LA Weekly Detour fest with Bloc Party, Justice and Satellite Party. Two parties in one day! Today was a fun filled adventure with Perry and Satellite Party as we played a little hut in Santa Barbara in the morning where both band performed MINK and Satellite Party songs together, another proud moment to play with Perry. The evening was unreal the venue was huge and it was great to meet some MINK fans in the crowd.

What an amazing and eventful day in San Fransisco. It was my first time in this clean, vibrant city. We performed 2 flash mobs with the Satellite Party gang; first at Spin HQ and next in front of the Virgin Megastore. What an extreme honour to play with Perry and his band. Great American Music Hall was beautiful too, checking out San Fransisco as we speak and getting ready for the Apple Instore! Be there!

Last night in Sacramento was one of the wildest crowds on the tour Neal put on an exceptional show and we killed t-shirt sales. Today i discovered a place "Bizzare Guitar" that also sold guns and amo right next door, a famous spot that many famous musicians have stopped by to gaze at the collection and purchase some of the worlds best collection of Gibson Les Pauls, it was now Mink's turn to check out what they had and i was amazed to see a real 1959 les paul which was worth around 300,000 big ones, id like to say a personal thanks to Shannon for showing me the vault Our show at the Club Undrground will be leading us to the sunny days of the Californian West coast i just love it there Cheers Nick

Spent the day travelling from Spokane to Salt Lake City. Visited a traditional japanese restaurant with a soundtrack comprised solely of M.O.R pop song. Nice. Then we hid out in a coffee house for a nightcap and went back to the bus for a supernatural guitar jam. All in all it was a tremendous day! Tomorrow we perform on KWCR and visit the Grey Whale for an instore performance at 7pm. Be there or be pear (shaped)!

The Big Easy. An Interesting name for a venue.. it had walls covered in guitars and rock memorama, a decent sized room allowed us to stretch out a bit with the volume which is always fun. It was our first time in Spokane and we met some lovely people who wed love to see again next time around.

On our way back from Vancouver, we stopped to play a couple tunes at MSN Headquarters. It was a cool stop because I met a few people who worked on the website for Rockstar: Inxs, which is the show I was on in 2005. After the show, we talked about XBox for awhile...I am a self-confessed video game addict, so I was curious to hear about the release of Halo 3 for Xbox 360. It was a great day! -neal/MINK

WOW! What can we say about Vancouver? It's an awesome city with amazing people. Stella and I started by visiting 99.3 with Perry and Etty. Next, we did a flash mob at Fluevog shoe store. Afterwards, Stella picked up the most incredible red boots on the planet. Words can not do them justice, so you'll need to look at the picture below. I had a pretty bad cold yesterday and I was worried about singing, but once we got onstage, it was all cool. Stella took the a picture of the crowd at the Commodore last night because they were so amazing. We can't thank you enough and hopefully we'll be able to make it back soon! - Neal / MINK

Yes Folks we are still in Orlando Florida and its bright and sunny quite reminiscent of Australia's Gold Coast which made all the fellow Auzzies feel right at home, especially Grant. Today we explored the Orange County Convention Centre Surf Expo alot like Paddy's Markets in Sydney but showcasing every product involved extreme water and land sports. Curly Girlz have made some exclusive limited edition skateboards with our MINK logo on it, we are all seriously stoked!!!

Hey everyone...Atlanta was awesome. Earlier today, Grant and Stella visited 99x and hung out with Peter, Bjorn and John. Later, we did an acoustic performance at the Apple store. I have to say we have come across some of the friendliest people in the country who truly justify the terms of "southern hosipitality" Firstly we played at radio 99X, heres a shot with our buddy Mike, then we hit up the local indie record store "Criminal Records" which had a great selection of vinyl, cds, dvds, comics, cool magazines and a fantastic staff. our finaly activity of the day was playing a show at Center Stage we had a great time talking to all the friends and fans, we set records at our merchandise store.. Today we had lunch with Nicole from PETA and shared each others veiws on animal rights and what we can do to help create positve solutions to help stop cruelty to animals. Tonite we played at this great venue called the Norva it has the best backstage area in the whole of the usa, ping pong, basketball court, video games and hot tub not to mention catering, stay tuned as we have a long drive tommorow to Asheville North Carolina.

Today was the day to get back into the luxuries of having a stable internet connection, after a month on the road, take our guitars in for a service at Rudys Music repairs in Manhattan, they have taken a beating. Oh my god it was all about Alligators and crawfish for lunch! the word on the street was MINK and Satellite Party tonite come for a rad party show.. Many people took our advice from our trusty street teaming efforts when we landed from the 86 mile drive from New Orleans. This crowd was truly packed and awesome, all you have to do is watch our video from this night to see how wild and crazy these people are in this town. Perry invited about 20 people onstage during his set to help him sing "Jane Says." We absolutely loved it cant wait to play here again THANK YOU!!!..

Today was like running to the ends of the earth and back as we travelled from Tulsa to LA than to Dallas on about 3 hours sleep, it was awesome! no realy we love it. Fontana were the best bunch of people ever, they had a great response to our performance and even gave us bags of loot it was like christmas!!! DVDs and CDs galore. Hey guys! Today we played Tulsa, one of our favourite stops on the last US tour. We had a blast playing a small club, some of the members got "inked up" again and we were able to hang out with some wonderful people! See you in Dallas!

This morning Perry gave us the opportunity to play "Talk To Me" in the studio with little Roland Cube amps and a single snare drum, thank you to KRBZ for having us.

Heya!

We had a blast hanging out at the Beach Ball Festival last night in Kansas City, MO. Perry and Satellite Party put on a killer show. We gave out a bunch of MINK stickers, then hung out with The Used and Satellite Party backstage. Here's a picture.

Our stay in Minneapolis was plagued with rain, but we ended it on a positive note. The crowd was awesome, especially our friends who were at the Kiss shows in Wisconsin and Michigan. Rock!

Today we discovered the biggest mall in the USA it was like Disneyland. We also hung with some of our fans a band called the "Mannequins".

The Pabst Theatre was one of our favourite venues played yet, it has an amazing vibe in the room and we had never been so welcomed by the local crowd. Earlier in the day we did a flash mob with Satellite Party and helped raise global awareness outside healthfood store Beans and Barley. Thanks to everyone in Milwaukee who was apart of the music and good times...

Aloha beautiful birdies! Today we hit Cincinnati blazing through an acoustic set at 94.9 "The Sound" with our gorgeous friends Satellite Party. Afterwards we danced with the locals onstage at Bogart's. Here are some happy snaps for your perusal! Enjoy and see you tomorrow in Milwaukee!

Before leaving Boston, we took a couple of pitstops. The first was a live performance for FOX 25 Morning News. Next we dropped in on our friends at Newbury Comics Headquarters. We can't wait to see our friends in Pittsburgh!!!

Tonight was a magic event again... After a wonder around The Friendly streets of Montreal we broke some hearts and made some new friends... xo... Speak soon.

Hi from Cleveland! Today we visited the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Some highlights: Michael Jackson's Thriller Jacket, Joey Ramone's leather jacket, Jim Morrison's report cards, etc. But for me, the highlight was seeing Otis Redding's jacket, pipe, lyrics, etc. Today was a great way to kick off the tour.

We leave Chicago today for 10 weeks on the road with Perry Farrell and Satellite Party, we are very excited about it. Lollapalooza was absolutely amazing! Cant wait to play it again next summer. MINK would like to introduce you to our tour bus... we call her "007" because that's the model number. It's fully equipped with laser beams and ejector seats! ;-) She just arrived and this is our first bus tour in the US. If you see "007" in your neighborhood, please drop in and say hi.
